How to get to Wave Park?
Updated: Jul 20
Wave Park is located in Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province. There are three options to get there: by car, public transportation and shuttle bus.
However, going there by car will be the fastest way to get to Wave Park. If you are departing from Hongdae, it only takes you an hour to get to the park, not counting traffic jams. It is approximately 47 kilometers from Wave Park. There is a specially designated parking space in the park but it comes with a fee, however there are a lot of free parking spaces nearby, so there is nothing to worry about. You can also take a taxi from Seoul, which will cost you about 40,000~50,000 won (35~45$).
If you are an adventurous one then public transportation is likely to be the way to go. If you depart from Hongdae then the entire trip takes about two and a half hours. The most convenient option, in my opinion, is to get to the Oido station on the 4th line (blue line), and then, exiting the first exit, you can find the Oido station (25171) bus stop.
From this stop, all you have to do is take bus number 99-3. The bus runs every 15~25 minutes on weekdays and every 25~35 minutes on weekends. Bus operating hours differ slightly on weekends and weekdays. On weekdays, the bus runs from 6 am to 10:05 pm, and on weekends from 6:55 am to 9:00 pm. The whole trip will take about 30 minutes, and you will need to disembark at the MTV Wave Park Front Door, which is the last stop, be careful, the bus goes in a circle. Just as you get off at the stop, you will see the entrance to Wave Park in front of you. Public transport costs 2,350 won (2$).
Finally, the last way to get to Wave Park is by shuttle bus. It departs from Sadang Station and it takes you to Sadang Station in the evening. The ride will take just under an hour and will cost you 10,000 won (9$).
In my experience, of course, the most convenient way to get to Wave Park is by car, if you own one, if not then the shuttle bus is the next most convenient thing.
